Amidst celebrations, the International Office (IO) organized the “France Focus Day” on April 10, 2018 in the Business Incubation Center to enlighten students, faculty and staff about educational and research opportunities in France. Mr. Sebastien Cartier, Higher Education Attache, Cultural and Cooperation Department, Embassy of France was main resource person. Mr. Taha Jamil, a French Embassy official also accompanied Mr. Cartier.
Mr. Sebastien Cartier spoke about French history, economy, politics, culture and education system and also illustrated the facts with short videos. Subsequently, he delivered a detailed and comprehensive presentation on “Study in France” which was followed by a Q & A session. It was informed that it is very well possible to do higher studies in France in the English language and the fees are generally quite nominal. Students are allowed to work part time to finance their living expenses.
Later on, Dr. Tanvir Akbar Kiyani, Asst Professor (Mathematics), French Alumnus shared anecdotes regarding his experience of living and studying in France. CIIT students also sung a French song, recited a French poem and made a presentation of Pakistan in French. The skits received much praise and appreciation and as a token of encouragement, Mr. Cartier distributed diaries among the students.
Keychains with Eiffel Tower edifice were also distributed among all attending audience which were well received with much delight.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Samira Shah, Senior International Liaison Officer, IO profusely thanked Mr. Cartier for his frequent visits to CIIT and also expressed her gratitude to the French Embassy for their special assistance which it regularly extends to CIIT.
A group photograph, after the presentation of souvenir marked the end of the event after which the Mr. Cartier and Mr. Jamil were requested to partake in lunch. Witnessing a well-attended event, the French Embassy officials departed from CIIT on a happy note.
