A talk on "Higher Education Opportunities in Malaysia and Probable Ways for Capitalization” was held at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Sahiwalcampuson August16, 2018at 10:00 am. Thetalk is part of seminar series, organized under the program “Information Seminars for Higher Studies Abroad” with the objective to educate and orient CUI prospective candidates with respect to selecting, financing and applying for higher studies abroad.

The purpose of the seminar was to educate the young faculty members and students on the opportunities of higher education in Malaysia. This talk was delivered by Dr. Tariq Ali from the Department of Computer Science, Sahiwal campus.

Dr. Tariq Ali received his PhD from UniversitiTeknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Ipoh, Malaysia and majored in Under Water Wireless Networks. He did his MSc from ShaeedZulifqar  Ali Bhutto University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Currently he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, COMSATS University Islamabad, Sahiwal campus. Previously hehas workedat the Jang Group of News, Gordon College, Punjab Pension Fund, Government of Punjab.

The talk started with the brief on the purpose of the seminar by Dr. MajidHussain, the focal person at Sahiwal campus for the said program. This was followed by the formal presentation of speaker. Dr. Tariq Ali talked about the opportunities of higher education and scholarships in Malaysia. He shared his experience of the Malaysian culture and later gave details on the top scholarships agencies of the world. Dr. Prof. Dr. SaleemFarooqShaukat, Director, Sahiwal Campus also graced the session.Faculty members including Assistant Professors, Lecturers, Lab Engineers and MS final year students participated in the seminar. The talk was organized by Directorate of Planning, Development and Human Resource Development in collaboration with the CUI, Sahiwal campus.
