Greetings from the Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Centre)!!
The NAM S&T Centre (www.namstct.org) is pleased to invite applications for the NAM S&T Centre Senior Visiting Fellowship for the year 2019-20 (April 2019 to March 2020).
The objectives of the NAM S&T Senior Visiting Fellowship scheme are to provide opportunities to senior scientists, researchers and academicians of the Member Countries of the NAM S&T Centre and the Members of its NAM S&T – Industry Network to affiliate themselves with the S&T institutions located in another Member Country of the Centre for upgrading their research skills, undertaking short-term joint projects, delivering lectures, developing linkages and establishing closer cooperation with the scientists/institutions in their fields of interest. Scientists invited to attend workshops, meetings or conferences organised in another country are not entitled to apply for this Fellowship.
Scientists, researchers and academicians possessing academic qualification of either Ph D. degree or at least 5 years experience after post graduation and engaged in R&D or management of scientific programmes in any field of science and technology are eligible to apply.
The maximum duration of the Fellowship would be for 10 days. However, it may be extended further upon mutual consultation between the visiting scientist and host institution based on the purpose of the visit, provided the cost of local hospitality including accommodation, meals and local transport for the visiting scientist for the extended duration is borne by the host institution.
Selected scientists will be provided full financial support by the NAM S&T Centre including return international travel fare by Economy Class and a subsistence allowance @US$ 125 per day for a maximum period of 10 days for accommodation, meals and other miscellaneous expenses.
Maximum five (5) Fellowships will be awarded each year and maximum one applicant from a particular Member Country or a Member of the NAM S&T – Industry Network can be awarded the fellowship in any year. Selection will be made strictly on competitive basis on the basis of the professional details of the applicants and their purpose of visit/plan of work.
Interested scientists, researchers and academicians may electronically submit their applications to the NAM S&T Centre (email@example.com) after getting the same recommended by the Focal Points of the NAM S&T Centre in their countries in the prescribed format. Following documents must be submitted as e-mail attachments:
i. Filled in Application Form (blank Form enclosed)
ii. A write-up on the purpose of visit with plan of work (in MS Word format)
iii. A short (maximum two pages) CV (in MS-Word format) in the Format enclosed with the Application Form.
iv. A letter from an institution in another Member Country inviting the applicant for affiliation with the institution for a stipulated period
v. Copy of the relevant pages of passport (in PDF or JPG format)
Last date for submission of application is 24th January 2020.
The Guidelines and blank Application Form for the Fellowship programme are enclosed. Lists of Member Countries and Network Members and contact details of the Focal Points of the NAM S&T Centre in these countries/organisations can be found on the Centre’s website; http://www.namstct.org.
