DAAD research grants are available for doctoral candidates and young postdocs for:

  • Research projects at German universities for the purpose of gaining a Ph.D. in the home country (Research Grants- Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral Degrees),
  • Research projects at a German university for the purpose of gaining a doctorate in Germany,
  • Research projects or further education and training at German universities for young post-docs.

Note:

In the past, applicants to the DAAD "Research Grant" programme have been, expected to be faculty of a Pakistani university or research institution. Now, postgraduate students (having recently completed 18 years of education) or who are in the process of finalizing their M. Phil course or who are on an "M. Phil leading to PhD" programme or those who have already started their PhD research work without being employed at any university are eligible to apply. Applicants should be clearly aiming at an academic career.

We are pleased to announce that applications for the Pakistan Scottish Scholarships Scheme 2019 are now open. British Council in collaboration with the Scottish Government first launched this scheme in 2013 with the aim of promoting higher education amongst Pakistani women. The Pakistan Scottish Scholarship Scheme caters to women from financially disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing higher education and helps them achieve their educational ambitions.

These scholarships are offered to female students enrolled in master’s programmes, and for the very first time this year they are being offered at bachelor’s level too, allowing women to pursue a four-year bachelor’s degree. These scholarships are being offered in the fields of education, agriculture and food security, sustainable energy, health sciences, and STEM engineering (STEM is only applicable at master’s level), all areas of critical importance to Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria These scholarships are offered to female students enrolled in Bachelors and master’s programs. All the students who full fill the criteria can apply online and Via courier also

  • This training module has been developed as a hand-on learning package for those who are looking forward to understand the step by step analysis in data applications in their respective fields.
  • Participants will be able to explore the ways of data analyzation and visualizations based techniques essential to address the real business world queries, in relation to‘pythonian’ way of learning.
Learning Outcomes:

  • Hands-on learning experience in Jupyter Notebooks and how they are used for data analysis;
  • Describe the features of Jupyter Notebooks;
  • Use Python data science libraries;
  • Allows the data scientist to record their complete analysis process as a lab notebook;
  • Getting Familiar with real time data base in Jupyter environment.
  • Perform simple exploratory data analysis with statistics and visualization techniques;
  • Reading different formats files for the data analysis such as xls; sav; txt; pdf etc.;
  • Using pandas, graphics, and using random numbers in a  Python scripting in Jupyter;
