The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a study tour to Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) Taxila on October 24, 2019 for the students of BS(ME)- 1st Semester under the supervision of senior faculty members. The students experienced the practical application of theoretical concepts of manufacturing industry. During visit to plant they get a tour of the Fabricate Welding and Machine Shops. Further students also learned about Drawing, Welding and some basic principles of machining. Students also visited main shops and learned about Design & Engineering, Fabrication, Machining, Forging, Heat Treatment, Hydraulic Press techniques. HMC works on projects of Sugar plants, Cement plants, Boilers, oil and gas Sector, Steel Structures, Overhead bridges, Cranes and Hydel Plants. Students have learnt a lot and enjoyed their study tour.

The students of BS(ME)-2nd Semester (Section-B) along with faculty members from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, CUI Wah Campus visited Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) Taxila, one of Pakistan’s largest and Heavy Manufacturing industries on April 03, 2019.
Students were briefed by technical officers about the working of different workshops of HMC. Students visited forging and fabrication shop to observe forging, sheet metal work and automated welding processes. In machine shop they observed the industrial manufacturing process held on machines including lathe, milling machines, shaping and hydraulic presses and learned about their processes.
