A virtual meeting was held with Cultural Affair Office, US Embassy, Islamabad and officials of COMSATS University Islamabad on Tuesday July 21, 2020. Ms. Lisa Swenarski, Country Cultural Attache and Mr. Sharif Sabir, Cultural Affairs Specialist were representatives from US embassy. Dr. Fahim Qureshi, Registrar and Mr. Ali Tawab Baloch, Head International Office attended the meeting from COMSATS university Islamabad. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tabassam Afzal, Rector CUI also joined the meeting. 

During the meeting the Dr. Qureshi briefed about ongoing academic collaborations and partnerships with various US universities. He also told about US alumni working in different campuses of CUI. The US alumni represent scholars & researchers who availed prestigious scholarships under various scholarship programs. Moreover, the US counterparts were informed about academic and research excellence with US, inward mobilities from US and various programs which were jointly organized between CUI and US embassy.

Ms. Lisa Swenarski acknowledged CUI academic activities with the US institutions. She briefed the participants about different programs of US embassy for the students, faculty and researchers of Pakistan.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tabassam Afzal, Rector CUI urged to explore more opportunities for academic cooperation, research collaboration and opportunities of short term up to a semester mobilities for CUI students and faculty members to US universities/ institutions with the cooperation of US embassy.

It was decided to work jointly and in close collaboration of both entities. The meeting ended on a cheerful note.

CCRD team members had a meeting with Mr. Ali Toqeer Sheikh, Climate Expert on February 12, 2020. The meeting was organized by Mr. Ali Tawab, Head International Office to explore possible funding opportunities for research projects related to water and climate. Mr. Ali Toqeer was briefed about CCRD's on-going and completed research projects and collaborations mainly with International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC). Opportunities for developing research cooperation at regional level in the areas of climate science, mitigation and adaptation were discussed. Dr. Athar Hussain, Head, CCRD proposed 'Vote of Thanks' to Mr. Ali Toqeer for his valuable inputs. He also acknowledged Mr. Ali Tawab for his effort to link CCRD with the climate experts.

Student Startup Business Center (SSBC), COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Vehari Campus Management Committee meeting was held in U shape conference room on 30th November, 2017.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress of SSBC startups and to evaluate the short listed business ideas’ presentations for enrollment. We are very thankful to all the participants who pitched there ideas in front of Management Committee.
