Centre for Policy Studies (CPS), COMSATS University Islamabad in collaboration with Faculty Development Academy (FDA) organized a workshop on“Uncommon Qualitative Research Methods: Phenomenology and Conversation Analysis” at COMSATS Headquarters, G 5/2, Islamabad on August 09, 2018 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Dr. Rao Nadeem, Assistant Professor, Anthropology Department, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad; Dr. Aneela Sultana, Assistant Professor, Anthropology Department, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad; Dr. Imran Syed, Head, CPS; Dr. Aurangzeb Zulfiqar Khan, Principal Research Officer, Management Sciences Department, COMSATS University, conducted sessions during the workshop. Around 30 faculty members and officials from different CUI campuses and other universities attended the Workshop.

A workshop on Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test was arranged on January 29, 2019. The venue for the event was COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamabad Campus.

The objective of the workshop was to familiarize the participants on
the different sections of the GRE General Test. The workshop was conducted by  Ms. Mashal Khan and Mr. Kamran Changezi of United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).

The workshop started with recitation of the Glorious Quran. Ms. Mashal Khan presented an overview of the GRE test and covered sections on Verbal Strategies, Verbal Reasoning and Analytical Writing etc. Mr. Kamran Changezi covered the Quantitative Strategies, Comparison Strategies and Reasoning Strategies of the GRE test. The trainers also shared tips for attempting each section.  

The participants of the workshop were also invited to register for the GRE mock test. The USEFP announced that the top three CUI participants having over 300 score in the GRE mock test would be given free GRE voucher worth US$205. Tentatively the GRE mock test is scheduled to be held in the last week of February 2019.

A good number of students/faculty and staff members attended the workshop. The participants acknowledged the usefulness of the information provided at the session.

This session was organized by the Directorate of Planning, Development and Human Resource Development.
