The NGCRG is associated with the Department of Electrical Engineering at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad. The group was established with an objective of promoting research culture in the area of communication.
The principal aim of the group is to be produce high quality research of international excellence. The group promotes basic and applied research employing leading digital communication technologies and methodologies to meet the new emerging requirements and applications. It is our firm belief that theory should be always complemented by experiments and we have an ongoing commitment to the development of a state-of-the art experimental facility.
The NGCRG group comprises of over 20 academic staff, postgraduate, graduate and undergraduate research students. The group has an international reputation and is in collaboration with Southampton University, UK and Macquarie University, Australia.
The research areas on which the group is currently working includes wireless, cooperative communications, massive MIMO, Cognitive radio, energy harvesting and data compression; however the activities of the group also involve multidisciplinary projects. The group is well equipped with a wide range of laboratory equipments, computing facilities and diverse software packages for teaching and research support.
