Research Productivity Awards
To encourage its faculty and promote quality research, CIIT-Research Productivity Awards are an annual feature. A total of 862Research Productivity Awards (RPA) was conferred upon CIIT scientists and researchers last year.
Around 360 PhD faculty members of CIIT have been approved as PhD Supervisors by HEC thus facilitating research initiatives of CIIT and its broader educational community.
Since its foundation, one of the chief aims of CIIT has been to promote quality research. This has been done by engaging its faculty, students and researchers to challenge existing ideas and by providing a research friendly environment.
This institution has always provided incentives to its faculty and researchers in various fields, to motivate and inspire them to excel. It is with this aim that every year the Institute disburses Research Productivity Awards (RPA) and confers upon its scientists and researchers monetary awards in order to acknowledge their efforts and to motivate its entire research faculty competing for these awards.
CIIT RPA for its Faculty/ Staff & Students are for research papers published in a calendar year (in Impact factor and ISI indexed journals), the researchers will be awarded a certificate & cash prize as per the following remunerations:
- A full length journal publication
- Publication must have ‘COMSATS Institute of Information Technology’ address in the address line (and not as current or present address), just CIIT will not suffice.
- Publication must have been assigned the year of publication, volume number (if any) and page numbers.
Impact factor of a journal will be obtained by ORIC from the ‘web of knowledge’ and information regarding HEC recognized, ISI Indexed journals will be taken from HEC web site as per the following web addresses:
It is to be noted that the following publications will not be considered for CIIT RPA:
- Conference papers
- Book or book chapters
- Publication without COMSATS Institute of Information Technology address
- Publications with DOI number only
- Meeting abstracts
