International Office   Monday, October 28, 2019

The Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) presents its compliments and has the honour of referring to the subject cited above.

As you may be aware, the Horizon 2020 is one of the biggest EU research and innovation programme. The program revolves around three key areas: excellent science, industrial leadership, and society challenges. COMSATS has been collaborating with European Union in facilitating awareness regarding the aforementioned programme.

Kindly note that a call for proposals for Innovative Training Networks (ITNs) of European Union is now open under the subject programme. The objective of the aforementioned programme is to to train a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative early-stage researchers, able to face current and future challenges and to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services for economic and social benefit. ITN will raise excellence and structure research and doctoral training in Europe, extending the traditional academic research training setting, incorporating elements of Open Science and equipping researchers with the right combination of research-related and transferable competences. It will provide enhanced career perspectives in both the academic and nonacademic sectors through international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility combined with an innovation-oriented mind-set. Moreover, non-European organizations can participate as additional partners in ITNs, enabling doctoral-level candidates to gain experience outside Europe during their training. In this connection, the Work Programme 2018-2020 is enclosed herewith for your perusal.

It may kindly be noted that the deadline for submission of proposals is 14th January 2020. For further information, please visit:
