The COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) is organizing a Talk on
"So Who is Good Enough to Get Admission/Scholarships in the Top Universities of the World" by Dr. Ramla Shahid, Assistant Professor at the Department of Bio sciences, CIIT, Islamabad.
Brief about the Speaker:
Dr.Ramla did her PhD from Department of Chemistry University of Cambridge UK (2006-2011). During her time at Cambridge she worked on special nucleic acid structures call Quadruplexes and their role in Cancer. She was at Murray Edwards College and was an active member of College MCR (Middle Common Room). She worked as both Vice President and President of MCR. She was also elected as Welfare Officer at Graduate Union, University of Cambridge. Later she won Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellowship and worked for a year at MIT (2015-2016). She was working in Dedon Lab, which specializes in tRNA modification and their role in Cancer and Infectious diseases.
Brief about Talk:
She will be talking about the key points one should consider while planning on applying to the world?s top Universities, the funding opportunities and student life they offer. Moreover she will also discuss how the two Education systems, UK and USA, are similar yet so different.
The young faculty members and students are invited to attend the session. The schedule of the session is as follows:
