The Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT) held its Summer International Program in Gumi, South Korea from 10th August - 23rd August, 2017. Being an academic partner of KIT, CIIT received the offer to send its students for participation in the program, as a result three students from CIIT represented CIIT and Pakistan in a multi-national event. These students were: a) Aisar Ul Hassan from the Department of Physics; b) Faraf Khursheed from the Department of Bioinformatic; and c) Ali Raza from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The 2017 KIT Summer International Program was basically designed for undergrads who are interested to learn Korean culture, history, society, business as well as Korean language. The program consisted of a broad range of classes and excursions. Participants also visited a number of historical and cultural sites around Gumi and other cities in Korea during their stay. More than 30 students from seven different countries such as Pakistan, Korea, Philippines, Mongolia, Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia participated in this program.
It may be of interest to know that CIIT promotes such activities as these provide exposure and a taste of different cultures from around the globe.
