Webinar on the University of Texas at Arlington
A webinar on the "University of Texas at Arlington” was held at COMSATS University Islamabad, (CUI), Islamabad campus on March 30, 2021 at 6:00 pm. The talk is part of seminar series, organized under the program “Information Seminars for Higher Studies Abroad” with the objective to educate and orient CUI prospective candidates with respect to selecting, financing and applying for higher studies abroad.
The purpose of the seminar was to educate the young faculty members and final year students on the different degree programs, admission requirements and alternate source of funding available at the University of Texas at Arlington in U.S. A. (UTA). Ms. Lin Larson, the Director of Student Recruitment at the UTA shared information and took queries on the said topic.
The webinar started with a brief introduction on the University location and the different undergraduate and graduate programs offered at the UTA. The presenter explained the process for applying and briefly discussed the requirements for admission such TOEFL and GRE scores. She further informed that some of the departments have waived the GRE test requirements due to the COVID-19. She also invited the participants to request her for an application fee waiver. Ms. Lin Larson also shared information on the different alternate sources of funding available at the UTA such as part time on campus and off campus employment, internships and teaching /research assistance positions for both Masters and PhD students.
A good number of participants from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science departments attended the session and keenly paid attention to the talk. The audience acknowledged the usefulness of the information provided by the speaker.
