Mr. Muhammad Zahir, Research Associate and PhD Scholar at Fujian Normal University, China has secured third position in “International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability (ISCES) Global Environment Solutions Competition”. The competition was held online on 6 June 2021 and nearly 300 students from over 100 universities in 33 countries participated in teams and compete under the theme Ecosystem Restoration and four sub-tracks, namely Ecosystem Restoration and Climate Change, Ecosystem Restoration and Human Health, Ecosystem Restoration and Circular Economy, Ecosystem Restoration, and Green Cities.
Over 1000 student observers watched and voted online. The judging committee consists of experts from UN agencies, international NGOs, research institutions, and private sectors. This conference was jointly hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme and Tongji University, with the support of the Agricultural Bank of China.
The title proposed by Mr. Zahir was ‘Ecosystem Restoration & Green City, from Fujian Normal University’.
