A two member CIIT delegation comprising Dr. Arshad S. Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Sciences and Dr. Tariq ur Rehman, Advisor (International Liaison) led by Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi (S.I.), Rector CIIT participated in the 14th Meeting of COMSATS Coordinating Council held at International Centre for Physics (CIF), the Center of Excellence of COMSATS, Bogota, Columbia on 26-27 May, 2011. Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi gave a detailed presentation about immense growth of CIIT in a decade and shared the ideas on various establishing and ongoing collaborative programs with COMSATS Member Countries in academic & research areas of Science & Technology.
Dr. Arshad S. Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Sciences briefed the participants about progress on COMSATS’ Thematic Research Group on Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs). While Dr. Tariq ur Rehman, Advisor (International Liaison) represented the COMSATS Secretariat.
In brief discourse with Dr. Imtinan Elahi Qureshi, Executive Director, COMSATS Secretariat, Islamabad-Pakistan, Dr. Eduardo Posada F., Chairperson/Director, CIF, Heads of 8 Centers of Excellence of COMSATS and other participants appraised the contribution and efforts of CIIT towards growth of Science and Technology in Pakistan and its achievements in very short span of time.
