A 30 members delegation from Tsinghua University Beijing and Southwestern University of Political Science and Law Chongqing, including 20 students, visited  CIIT on January 14, 2012 headed by Mr. Zhang Guolin, Chancellor and Party Secretary of Southwestern University of Political Science and Law, Chongqing and Communication Center at Tsinghua University, Beijing.

The main purpose of the visit was to further strengthen Pakistan-China relations through educational visits and people to people contact. This interaction helped Chinese scholars and students to understand Pakistan and boost mutual understanding at the academic and student level.

The delegation was received by Mr. Tanvir Abbas Jafri (Director China Study Center), Ms. AttiyaSiddiqui(Incharge of Humanities Department),   members of Chinese alumni and the team of China Study Center.

The delegation had a meeting with the Rector CIIT,S.M.JunaidZaidi (SI) followed by lunch. The Rector appreciated the fact that the team had chosen CIIT for their visits on the first day. The delegation visited the newly established Islamabad campus of CIIT, including the CAST, language lab and Electrical Engineering Labs. Theywere very impressed by the well-equipped laboratories with state of the art machinery. The delegate visited the library and China Study Center and they expressed great interest in the activities  of the China Study Center.

The delegation was briefed about COMSATS Institute of Information Technology by Mr. Tanvir Abbas Jafri, Director China Study Center.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Zhang Guolinexpressed his desire to strengthen  Pak-China relations and congratulated CIIT for its remarkable success in a mere span of 10years.
