The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad and Washington State University, Pullman, WA, USA will usher in a new era of cooperation for CIIT in its quest to attain academic and R&D excellence. Through this MoU, CIIT and WSU will cooperate in their efforts to establish and conduct mutually agreed upon cooperative and collaborative projects. The two institutions will conduct programs and activities of basic and applied research, education and training, technology and information transfer and promote economic development.

The MoU, which was signed by Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, Rector, CIIT and Dr. Elson S. Floyd, President, WSU is the result of committed and strong efforts of Prof. Dr. Tahir Masood, Foreign Faculty Professor, Department of Management Science, CIIT, Islamabad and Dr. David Eric Sprott, Associate Dean for Graduate, International and Professional Program, WSU.
