The recently established China Study Center held a function to celebrate the Chinese 4709th New Year of the Black Water Dragon at CIIT on 22nd February, 2012, which was attended by Rector CIIT, high officials of CIIT, Chinese alumni, members of the Chambers of Commerce and senior members of Ministry of Science and Technology and top notch business community of Pakistan and China. Mr. Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar, Secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology graced the occasion as the Chief guest.
The eventalso providedan opportunity to discuss the potential of the forthcoming Pak-China Business Forum being arranged by COMSATS from the 16th to 18th April, 2012 in Islamabad.
The guests were first introduced to CIIT through a presentation, follow with various speakers including Mr. Raja Amir Iqbal Senior Vice President of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and expressed their thoughts regarding the Pak China friendship. Later a cake was cut cutting ceremony was held to mark the Chinese New Year after which the guests were treated to lunch.
