H.E Mr. Alfredo Leoni, Ambassador, Embassy of Brazil accompanied by Mr. Guftavo Meira Carneiro , Second Secretary, Education Affairs in the Embassy of Brazil, Islamabad  visited COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) on 30th of August, 2012. 

The purpose of the visit was enlightening the hononourable guests about CIIT and to forge holistic academic linkage with the leading universities in Brazil. 

The guests were warmly received by Dr. S/M Junaid Zaidi , Rector, CIIT, senior faculty members ,high officials as well as the officials from the International Office, CIIT.

The Brazilian Ambassador visited the Electrical Engineering and Nanotechnology laboratories. He was impressed by the well equipped laboratories with state of the art machinery. It was followed by a visit to the Library which was also immensely appreciated by him because of its grandeur and the pleasant ambiance of the place. 

The Brazilian Ambassador was briefed about COMSATS Institute of Information Technology by the Rector. H.E Alfredo Leoni was impressed by quantum leaps which CIIT took to become one of the top ranked Universities of Pakistan. His Excellency said that his visit will open doors for scientific and technological collaboration between CIIT and Universities of Brazil. 
In the end, the Rector (CIIT) presented shields to the guests and expressed his gratitude for their visit at CIIT despite their tight schedule.
