“Remembrance Day of October 08, 2005 Muzaffarabad Earthquake”

Department of Meteorology, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Islamabad Campus in collaboration with Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS), is organizing a one day seminar on “Remembrance Day of October 08, 2005 Muzaffarabad Earthquake” in commemoration of the victims of 2005 Muzaffarabad earthquake havoc. Renowned scientists in the field of Seismology, Geology and Geophysics from all over the Pakistan will present their work by majorly focusing on the future risks of seismic activity in the region as well as explore the menace of dreaded fault lines over which Pakistan is situated. This seminar will bring together scientists, researchers, and academicians at a platform where scientific talks will provide insights into seismology not only to common public but also to students interested to develop their career in the domain of Seismology and Solid Earth Physics. The primary objective of the seminar is to provide a forum to the researchers and scientists from all over the country to discuss the issues and challenges posed by seismological and geophysical hazards.
