On the sidelines of 3rd Annual Conference of CPEC Consortium of Universities organized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in Islamabad, a seven member high level delegation comprising of Vice Presidents, Deans, Senior Academics and other representatives from renowned Chinese universities visited COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) on November 20, 2019.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Incharge Academics Prof. Dr. Junaid Mughal and Head International Office & Incharge China Study Center Mr. Ali Tawab Baloch and his team. The delegates were shown the Islamabad campus including the visit to Junaid Zaidi Library.

The delegation had a meeting with the Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar and senior CUI management including; Dean Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Khalid Riaz; Dean Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid; Dean Architecture & Design Prof. Dr. Samra Mohsin Khan, An eminent Professor at CUI, Prof. Dr. Izhar Hussain; Director P, D & HRD, Mr. Tahir Naeem; Incharge Academics and Chairperson Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Junaid Mughal; and Head International Office & Incharge China Study Center, Mr Ali Tawab Baloch.

During the meeting, through a brief CUI presentation, Rector introduced CUI as a reputed, fast growing, research focused, innovative and internationally oriented university. He further mentioned that CUI’s greatest emphasis now is towards entrepreneurship and patent acquiring. CUI linkages with various Chinese universities were also highlighted by the Deans. The delegation head appreciated CUI’s progress and achievements and expressed keen desire to create a holistic collaboration with CUI in multiple disciplines.

The delegation members conveyed their gratitude for the hospitality extended and admired the green landscape of Islamabad campus. The delegates were presented with souvenirs by the Rector and a group photo was snapped towards the end of the visit.
