The Department of Computer Science arranged an industrial visit for Final Year undergraduate students to National Incubation Center (NIC), Islamabad on February 26, 2020 to hone and advance their skills in the areas of robotics, networking, web development and databases. The NIC is Pakistan’s state of the art award winning innovation hub working under public-private partnership with Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoTT) to engage youth in taking initiatives of becoming a stakeholder. The students visited NIC work places, usability labs and meeting rooms to learn and understand the work going on in different demanding areas like deep learning, robotics, networking, web development and databases. At the end students had a very fruitful interactive question answer session with an expert of NIC team in which they discussed a number of incubated projects, their thoughts and ideas.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized industrial visit of BS(ME)-1st and 3rd Semester students on December 4 and  12, 2019 to the Rastgar Engineering Company Ltd. The team of experts briefed the students on manufacturing processes and quality control system used in the manufacturing of wheel hub and axle assembling in different automobiles. During the visit students were shown foundry shop, machine shop to visualize casting techniques  and lathe operations. Faculty members accompanied with students acknowledged the hospitality and briefing of Rastgar Engineering Company Ltd.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering arranged an industrial visit for a group of 39 students of BS (EE) 7th Semester to the 132KV Grid Station, New Wah on December 18, 2019.  The Grid Station engineers briefed the students on single line diagram of grid station, switchgear protection and supply of energy. During the visit students were shown Switchyard Substation, Control Room and Protection Room. Students were demonstrated different transformers operations, their ratings, different components of power transformers and auxiliary transformer. Students have learnt bus bar schemes and the use of bus couplers schemes communication with National Power Control Center (NPCC) using OPGW and wave traps. At the end the faculty members, Dr. Umer Javed and Engr. Abdullah Shaukat accompanied with students acknowledged the hospitality of grid station engineers and their detailed briefing.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering arranged an Industrial Visit for the 5th Semester students to Pakistan Locomotive Factory, Risalpur on December 17, 2019. The students were accompanied by the Faculty Member Engr. Belawal Behram and Engr Sadiq Ahmed. The students were shown and given a briefing on the Electrical and Mechanical Section of the Factory. They were demonstrated welding and soldering procedures involved in manufacturing of the locomotives. They also visited the switchyard of the factory where briefed on power transformers, current transformers, potential transformers, isolators, circuit breakers and earth switches etc. Students have learnt a lot and found a trip very knowledgeable and purpose full.

The Department of Management Sciences organized an Industrial visit of BS(BA) & BS(AF) semester 4th and 5th students  on November 26, 2019 at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce (RCCI), Rawalpindi in connection with the celebrations  of “5th Global Entrepreneurship Week”. The Departmental Industrial Liaison Committee consisting of Assistant Professor, Dr. Muhammad Yar Khan, Dr Majid Jamal and Lecturer, Sikandar Wali were also accompanied with the students during visit.  
The main focus of the visit was to enhance awareness on entrepreneurial idea generation, screening and its careful selection. The students were briefed on the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and ways to handle challenges. Additionally, the students and faculty members had a meeting with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce representatives to discuss the future avenues of collaboration to strengthen the linkages between academia and industry, student placement, internships opportunities and joint seminars. The student attended Entrepreneurial Seminar presented by the guest speakers the advisor to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, Mr. Usman Dar and President (RCCI), Malik Shahid Saleem.
