CIIT hosted the World Learning(WL) Head, Ms. Nadya Karim Shaw, on 12th Jan, 2017 for a meeting with the senior management of CIIT. Head WL was accompanied by CEO of TeleTaleem, Mr. Asad Karim and Mr.Imdad Ali, Program Coordinator at WL. World Learning is a US based education and training company with a mission to empower people and strengthen institutions through education, sustainable development, and exchange programs. It is working to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that focus on partners’ philanthropic and developmental priorities.

The guests were welcomed by officials from the International Office and were escorted to the meeting venue. The meeting was attended by Dr. Raheel Qamar, Incharge Islamabad Campus, Dr. Malik, Head International Office, Dr. Bilal Zaka, Head IT Office, Ms. Rubina Bhatti, Deputy Director PD & HRD and Ms. Ayesha Masood. The discussion during the meeting suggested that WL in coordination with HEC and other major universities of Pakistan, particularly AIOU, would come up with a proposal for the ‘Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Innovation and Reform’(SPHEIR) project to offer E- learning based courses for the existing education programs. WL intends to create quality courseware following the latest instructional designs with the involvement of its UK partner, Open University (OU UK).

As CIIT has a Virtual Campus, thereforeit can usefully share its experiences in course development and can suggest appropriate courses that are either part of a regular degree program or independent training modules for skills development. The courses need to be selected considering their widespread usability, scalability and positive impact on employability of the beneficiaries.

The meeting was rounded-off with an agreement to follow up from both sides on the decided points. CIIT souvenirs were presented to the guests. They were seen off with words of thanks and a group photo outside Faculty Block 1.
