On 5th January, 2017 CIIT hosted a meeting and central library tour for H.E. Mr. Suchart Liengsaengthong – Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand with Ms. Marisa- Counselor at Royal Thai Embassy. The tour was guided by Ms. Zainab Ali and Mr. Ghazanfar Ali from CIIT International Office. H.E. Mr. Suchart Liengsaengthong was very well guided and made aware of the facilities available at central library. He was briefed about group study rooms, IT faculties, online available e-books, mobile app for library access, research cubicles and video conferencing room. CIIT library provides convenient access to quality information resources, and an environment that encourages study and personal growth. Library is equipped with most modern technologies like RFID System and Library Management System. His Excellency was quite impressed with the ongoing work and has suggested for a launch of “Thailand Book Corner”.

After the central library tour the guests headed towards the meeting which was cheered by Head of International Office- Dr. Arshad Salim Malik who was joined by Advisor International Office- Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan, Head of Metrology Department- Dr Kalim Ullah, International Faculty from Thailand- Dr. Vanisa Surapipath, Assistant Professor Computer Science- Dr. Sheikh Zia Uddin, Assistant Professor Management Sciences- Mr. Shahid Mehmood and General Manager ORIC- Dr. Fahim A. Qureshi. All these personnel have been linked to Thailand through work or education; therefore, having them on board added productive conversation and discussion points to the meeting.

The highlight of the meeting was collaborative ventures with Thai government and universities on various forums. Today, CIIT has expanded it horizons internationally and with ongoing humongous amount of research and development, with vast array of subject courses being taught at 7 campuses across Pakistan are all such distinguishing points that persuaded H.E. Mr. Suchart Liengsaengthong for further conventions even including a “CIIT campus tour for Thai students”.
