A workshop on "Atlas.ti” was held at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Attock Campus on October 16, 2019. The workshop is part of seminar series, organized under the program “Information Seminars for Higher Studies Abroad” with the objective to educate and orient CUI prospective candidates with respect to selecting, financing and applying for higher studies abroad.
The purpose of the seminar was to train the young faculty members and students on how to use Atlas.ti software for extracting, categorizing and inter linking qualitative data from large variety and volume of source documents. The training was conducted by Dr. Khawaja Fawad Latif from the Department of Management Science, Attock Campus.
Dr. Khawaja Fawad Latif received his PhD from Abasyn University and a Master’s degree from University of Westminster, UK. He is an active researcher and a reviewer of a number of research Journals. Currently he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Management Science, COMSATS University Islamabad, Attock Campus. Previously he has worked at the City University of Science and Information Technology and Abasyn University.
The session provided an orientation to the working of the software and acquainted the participants with the most important features and the applications of the tool. The workshop covered concepts such as Hermeneutic Unit, Primary Documents, Quotations, Codes and Network. Faculty members including research assistants and students participated in the session. The participants acknowledged the usefulness of the workshop. A copy of the presentation is uploaded at the CUI blogs.
The talk was organized by Directorate of Planning, Development and Human Resource Development in collaboration with the CUI, Attock Campus.
