Mr. Shahid completed his MS research project titled "Impact of Land use Change on the Regional Climate by using RegCM3" at Department of Meteorology, CIIT, Islamabad. During the workshop he got training on the use and applications of Regional Climate Model 3 (RegCM3) and also presented the findings of his MS research project. Mr. Shahid's research recommends that the precipitation and temperature patterns of Baluchistan region can be changed by land use change in terms of afforesting and enhancing grassland area in the region.   The research work of Mr. Shahid was highly appreciated at the workshop and it is an honor for the Department of Meteorology that the research work of international standard was done during his MS from the Department of Meteorology.

The visit of Mr. Shahid was jointly sponsored by COMSATS and ICTP. The Head of Department (HoD) of Meteorology, Dr. Mona Lisa, made special endeavors for arranging funds from COMSATS for Mr. Shahid's visit to ICTP. Mr. Shahid is thankful and acknowledges the efforts of Dr. Mona Lisa, Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan (advisor International Liaison Office of COMSATS), and CIIT for making his visit possible and successful.
