Under an annual training programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has been regularly providing training to diplomats from various countries of the world. During the last over 30 years 1250 diplomats have attended various courses. The programme is an important aspect of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to foster a global community and build international constituency for peace, harmony and understanding.

As a part of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology’s outreach initiatives, the 25th Advanced Diplomatic Course for Foreign Diplomats was hosted for an orientation tour of the Islamabad Campus on 23 February 2017. The group comprised diplomats from 24 countries from Africa, Europe, Asia and Latin America. They were provided briefing on CIIT and the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS). A presentation was also made on the Role of Women in Higher Education to highlight the part universities like CIIT are playing in mainstreaming women in the educational institutions. In his remarks, Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi, Rector CIIT elaborated on the overall vision of CIIT and the great strides made by the institution in a short period of 16 years. The diplomats showed keen interest in the programme and took active part in the discussion.
