Activities

In order to accomplish the objectives laid out, the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) plans to undertake following set of activities:

a) Academic; Teaching and Learning:

The Center for Policy Studies (CPS) aims to use a mixture of contemporary learning methodologies to impart quality education for developing future public policy experts and decision makers through a well-devised curriculum leading to the award of an M.S. degree in Public Policy.

b) Research and Analysis:

The Centre will initiate wide range of policy studies aiming at the provincial and federal government and offer its analytical insights on regional and global issues like economics, infrastructure (including energy, urbanization, and transportation), water and natural resources, social-sector development (including health, education, gender, labor and population, etc.), and foreign and national security.

c) Executive Training Program:

The Center for Policy Studies (CPS) shall conduct short courses, seminars and training workshops to enhance the knowledge base and skill set for policy analysis in particular, and social sciences in general. These programs shall be delivered by experts within as well as outside the CPS.

d) Consulting and Advice:

To increase the exposure of the CPS with the society at large, the Center shall also extend its outreach by taking up the consulting projects and providing technical expertise and assistance to governmental, non-governmental and business organizations. This will increase.

e) Events and Public Engagement:

The Centre plans to enrich its activities by active interaction with all the stakeholders including government, academics, policy makers, corporate sector, investors, regulatory authorities, and the society at large. To achieve that objective, the Centre may organize:

  • Round Table Discussions
  • Guest Speaker Series and invited talks by notable scholars from on/off-Campus
  • Arranging half-day Seminars, Interactive Workshops, and Forums
  • Management/ Training Courses for Executives
  • Annual National Policy Conference

f) Publications:

The Centre shall also engage itself in publishing scholarly research and timely analysis on a regular basis and encourage its research staff to actively engage in policy debates through occasional Op/Eds in popular English and Urdu Media. The Centre’s research output shall include:

  • Policy Research Reports/Issue briefs/ and Monograph
  • Briefings for Government Ministries and Foreign Missions
  • Press releases to media outlets promoting Centre’s Research Output for public education and wider dissemination.
  • Op/Eds by resident scholars and staff on issues of importance.
  • Centre’s newsletter and website.
