Rapid intellectual advances over the past fifty years have created a new field of intellectual endeavor, called Computer Science in North America and Informatics in Europe. The field not only encompasses a large body of knowledge about algorithms, processes, information, communication, languages, and systems but also concerns a new paradigm for representing and acquiring knowledge.
Computer Science programs at CIIT provide solid theoretical foundations by offering intellectually challenging courses designed by leading experts. Students are also exposed to strong hands on training by deploying cutting edge technologies. CIIT Computer Science graduates are groomed to think independently, and provide solutions. They are encouraged to come up with new ideas, develop links with the industry, and engage in entrepreneurial activities. Computer Science graduates will be in an ideal position to find jobs in a wide range of IT areas both in Pakistan and internationally, including: application programming; systems development and administration, hardware development; computer networks, systems support; teaching; research, Information System development and management.
