With the emergence of the digital era, the world has literally changed the way it functions and all theses transformations are mainly happening because of the computing devices. Not only have these inventions made our life easier but they are behind the creation of lucrative careers for a number of talented people, who gain recognition as the computer geniuses.

The Department of Computer Science at CIIT has always opened new portals towards emerging technologies; these portals are good enough to mesmerize individuals into the realities and wonders of the computer world. Our talented faculty members not only lecture out their knowledge and wisdom to the students, but also motivate them to be intellectuals and professionals in their approach. This scholastic attitude increases the urge of students to seek more and improvise their knowledge for future benefits of Computer Science. With no air and graces, Computer Science Department has a strength of sixty (60) faculty members in total, out of which thirty percent (18/60) are PhDs. The number of PhDs in CS department is increasing gracefully which further strengthens a promising future in teaching and learning.
The Computer Science department is currently offering four solid programs, one undergraduate and four graduate programs, respectively. The Undergraduate Program, Bachelor in Computer Science BS(CS)- a hard core computer science degree. It flows its development with natural science such as Mathematics and Physics and gradually increases its momentum with new channels of flourishing sciences such as Software Programming, Artificial Intelligence ,Computer Graphics, Multimedia Technologies, Embedded systems, Databases, etc. The graduate programs comprise of the following programs:
- PhD in Computer Science
- MS in Computer Science
- MS in Software Engineering
- MS in Information security
The Backbone of CS Department is its research output and our senior faculty is undertaking research challenges in cutting edge technologies. Researchers working at CS continuously produce quality research articles in impact factor journals as well as discourse at highly reputed international conferences. In addition, we encourage young scholars to compete in the modern world, and every year the department sends a large number of its faculty members abroad to pursue their higher studies at world ranking institutions.
Indeed Computer Science is the present and future of the mankind and one should be inclined in this epoch of Computer Science to make the right choice.
