Dr. Irfan Ullah Khattak has been working as a Lecturer at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) , Islamabad, Pakistan since Sep 2010. He has held various research, education and management positions. He has done his PhD in the field of Bio-Medical image processing in 2019.
He received his MS (Technology) degree from Tampere University of Technology(TUT), Tampere, Finland and Computer Engineering degree from CUI, Islamabad, Pakistan. He was working as a Research Associate (February 2009 – August 2010) in Digital and Computer Engineering Department at TUT. Before that (August 2007 – August 2008) he was working as a Research Assistant in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at CUI. He is member of ISMRM, ESMRMB and IEEE.
His main research interests includes image reconstruction in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting (MRF). Currently, He is working on Parallel computation to exploit parallelism in MR reconstruction algorithm and reducing scan time of MRI. Other interests includes Embedded Systems, Multi-Processor Systems, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. He is the author or co-author of around twelve scientific publications and three USPTO patents in the field of biomedical imaging. He has supervised or co-supervised about 80 Undergrad, 10 Master students and 1 PhD student. He reviewed technical papers in the field of biomedical imaging for many national and international journals on permanent and ad-hoc bases. Currently he is working on writing book in the field of Microprocessor Systems.
