Dr. Najeeb-ur-Rehman has a distinguished career with immense teaching and research experience, belongs to D.G. Khan, a historic city of Punjab. He graduated from the Punjab University. Prior to get his PhD degree, he served Punjab Education Department for 13 years. In 2004, he won HEC indigenous PhD fellowship and joined Department of Physics, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad as PhD scholar. In 2009, he completed his PhD in the field of Experimental Plasma Physics. His core expertise is in the field of Plasma Physics and his focused area of research is Modeling & application of non-thermal plasma. In 2012-2013, Dr. Najeeb-ur-Rehman also completed his post-doc from York plasma Institute (YPI), University of York UK.
He became the member of the COMSATS University Islamabad in October 2009 as Assistant Professor but promoted in 2014 as Associate Professor. He developed state of the art "Plasma Physics Research Laboratory" at Department of Physics CUI Islamabad which is equipped with Low pressure RF, DC Microwave Plasma generation facilities. In addition different diagnostic techniques like OES, Langmuir Probe, ICCD camera, absorption spectroscopy and etc are also available in the Lab.
Dr. Najeeb-ur-Rehman is also HEC approved PhD supervisor and presently, supervising MS and PHD students in different area of non thermal plasma. To promote the Plasma Research in the University, he has completed different research projects of several millions. Currently he is working on Plasma based ecological treatment of wheat seeds and dissociation of Carbon Dioxides using non thermal plasma sources. In addition to that he developed different atmospheric pressure plasma sources (locally) e.g., KINPen, Plasma Pencil, DBD Reactor, Plasma Needle, and Micro Plasma for synthesis of nano-materials.
