Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, visited CIIT on 2nd October, 2017. She was cordially welcomed by Dr. Arshad Malik, Head (IO) and his team.
The delegates were first shown around the campus including Admissions Office, Day Care Centre and Electrical Engineering labs. They also visited the state-of-the-art Junaid Zaidi Library from which they were greatly impressed due to its vibrant and colorful ambiance.
After the campus tour, the delegation was led to the meeting room to attend a meeting. During the meeting, the attendees discussed in detail all possibilities of collaboration. Dr. Malik briefed the delegation about CIIT’s strengths, its rankings and internationalization efforts, the discussion focused on various modes of collaboration between CIIT and Somalian Universities, scope of scholarships offered by CIIT to member countries of OIC and ISESCO as well as admission of Somalian students in graduate and undergraduate programs at CIIT. H. E. Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, Ambassador, showed a keen interest in recruitment of international students into CIIT and assured her cooperation in brining students from Somalia.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to each other and exchange of souvenirs. Later all the meeting participants had lunch at the Faculty cafeteria. The delegates left expressing a firm resolve to take full advantage of the different academic services offered by the CIIT.
