“How to write a Research Proposal” was the topic of the workshop organized by the International Office on February 28, 2018 to shed light on conceiving effective research proposals. The resource person for the workshop was none other than Sebastien Cartier, Higher Education Attaché, from the Embassy of France in Islamabad.
Mr. Cartier’s animated presentation was warmly received by the faculty and final year students. After his opening remarks, Mr. Cartier gave a comprehensive and detailed presentation on how to write a Research Proposal in which he explained how to specify the scope and the stakes of research, communicate with the supervisor, do the theoretical framework, look for a doctoral school and supervisor, etc. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session. The one hour presentation was quite interesting and kept the participants fully engaged.
At the end of the presentation, to the delight of all, Mr. Cartier distributed Eiffel Tower keychains among the participants which put broad smiles on the faces of the students.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Samira Shah, Senior International Liaison Officer, thanked Mr. Cartier profusely for participating in the highly productive activity. She also stressed on the importance of writing a good research proposal for getting admission in prestigious universities around the world as well as for securing research funding.
The function ended with a group photograph and presentation of souvenir after which Mr. Cartier was invited to partake in light refreshments. The guest left around noon time.
