Although a good number of research proposals get approved from various funding agencies, scarcity of resources prohibits provision of funds, hence unavailability of assistance to the teachers and researchers working in CIIT. To alleviate this problem and to bring in more teachers in the canvass of research stream, a “CIIT Research Grant Program” (CRGP) has been initiated. Under this program, small research grants up to Rs.200, 000 for research proposals are provided to the young faculty members of CIIT. All faculty members, preferably the first timers in all disciplines, are eligible to apply for CRGP. The research grant can be utilized for purchase of one or two small equipment, operational costs, consumables, stationery etc. The grant money can cover travel within the country and for payment of modest honorarium to the Principal Investigator.
Applications (in triplicate) for securing CRGP should be made on the prescribed form and sent to R&D Division at any time of the year. A three-member review committee recommends or acceptance or otherwise of the proposal before it is finally approved by the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASAR).
